Jack's Dedication to God

DSC_1284.jpg

Chris and I are privileged to have friends that are like family. The awesome thing about being a part of the family of God is that you literally feel like blood relatives. At least that is how I feel. Ha! Heather and Phil have been friends with us since before we got married and Saturday nights used to be our ritual hangout time before we moved. Now we have a new member, J, who is the sweetest little dude. For a long time Heather and Phil had been praying for a child and even thought of adopting. I remember praying for Heather with our women's Bible study group just a few months before she found out she was pregnant. I know that this doesn't always happen for everyone and maybe we don't know all the reasons for why things happen the way they do. What I do know is that J is special in so many ways and when his parents wanted him to be dedicated to God, it was only fitting. They are an example to me and I hope that one day we can raise our kids together in this crazy place called Earth.

There is no doubt that this little guy is loved. Such a happy moment here. This is the result of patience, faith, and perserverance no matter the result.

J kept staring at the pastor during prayer. He has such a serious and straight forward look.

Annnnnddd... the typical grab-the-mike shot. Haha. I think I was the only one not feeilng guilty for having my eyes open here. ;)

Love you guys! So thankful that we were able to be there for J's dedication. I know that as a friend, I feel it a responsibility to be an example in his life as well. The more God-fearing people there are to surround little lives, the more likely they will make it out ok. :)
