Crater Lake National Park, OR

Visiting Crater Lake National Park is one of those places that really challenges your perspective of space and distance. Before arriving, everything is pretty desolate and so upon coming to the edge you are immediately put in awe. Such a deep blue! And HUGE. I couldn’t really figure out how big it was until I saw a power boat the first time we came (this was our second). We barely made it in time before dark and so the lighting was full of contrast and drama. We parked at the visitor center, so if you ever wish to see these views you’ll know where to go!

Someday it might be fun to go again and hike down the lake. Definitely something you want to plan for earlier in the day. Have you been to Crater Lake? If so I’d love to see pics! It is pretty much out of the way of a lot of things so be prepared with food and fill your tank with gas.
