Backyard Wedding Preparations & Portraits | Fredericksburg, VA
Your wedding day. Some say it comes with a bunch of rules you must follow to make it perfect and others say, "do whatever you want. It's your day!" Putting rules aside, the one thing that makes each wedding similar is family. The day is really about everyone chipping in and sharing in a beautiful momentous experience.
For Kirsten and Dillon's wedding in Fredericksburg VA, this could not have been truer. Set in Kirsten's family backyard, she had all the help she could get to make their day perfect. From her uncle prepping all the pulled pork to her brother mowing the lawn the day of, it was definitely a family affair.
Kirsten has 7 brothers and sisters and when she asked me be her photographer, she mentioned something to the effect of "welcome to the craziness!" I love it. I have one brother and so seeing how a large family works is so intriguing! I loved documenting them being together.
Included in that family were Kirsten's friends. They were right along side her making sure that the day was beautiful.
The DRESS. Set near the ceremony settling. Don't worry, it was hours before anyone would arrive. : )
Such a beautiful and genuine smile!
In the middle of all the ladies getting ready, I went to see what Dillon was up to with his guys. Quite the fun bunch and pretty chill.
His grandfather's watch.
This part of day is always special to me because it's intimate and probably one of the slower paced parts of the day. Kirsten and Dillon wanted to have a first look, so we went to the park to have a first look. Such a happy moment!
Both look so pleased!
Yep, just an intimate moment together. That tree was huge!
Jane Austin novel cover anyone?
Favorites!
So stunning! Oh and that southern sun was surprisingly not as hot as it can be. Pretty thankful for that.
Kirsten and Dillon had the awesomest bridal party! Oh. My. Goodness. They were great. And it was the largest wedding I have ever photographed too! Aren't her little sisters cute?
Ya, these guys made my day.
Because I have so much to share, we are going to keep the ceremony and reception for another post! Thank you Kirsten and Dillon for letting me be a part of your day. It was truly wonderful and fun. Here is a photo of you guys ready to get married and have some fuuuuunnnnn! Can't wait to share what's next!
